Color Consulting Process
On-Site Residential Exterior Consultations

An on-site EXTERIOR paint color consultation is available for homeowners living within the greater Miami-Dade area. For those located outside this area we can either work by email, U.S. mail or I can come to your home for additional fees based on location. A check or PayPal payment of 50% is required in order to commence services. Please email me for more information and/or to set up a time that I can call you.
1) For all options please take digital photos of all sides of your home that you can either email me (jpeg, tiff, or pdf formats) or CD (compact disc) by U.S. Mail. If you have the as-built drawings please have the exterior elevations reduced to a format of 8-1/2 x 11. Complete the short Client Questionnaire Form which will tell me about your home, your objectives and surrounding neighborhood. You can describe your color preferences; include clippings of magazines and paint chip and material samples that you are considering. Please include any additional information that will give me an understanding or your style and personal taste.
- For on-site visits: I will personally meet you at the site; you will fill out a brief client questionnaire, ask any questions, and provide me a check to proceed with our services.
- For locations outside the Miami-Dade: Email or U.S. Mail the Client Questionnaire Form, enclose your digital photographs and mail a check or I will email you an invoice for payment by PayPal. Services will not begin until we are in receipt of funds. (Email me if you wish for me to come to your location for an additional fee.)
3) I will e-mail you with confirmation of receipt when your information arrives. I will familiarize myself with your homes' particular Architectural style, proportions, materials and features. I will read your Client Questionnaire Form and learn about your objectives; color preferences and adjoining neighborhood in order to prepare custom tailor color options starting with the base color. I will be happy help you select stone, brick, aluminum roof, eave and siding samples (samples must be sent with your information package) for no extra charge so everything will work together and enhance the Architecture. I will call you to discuss any questions that I have.
4) Up to 3 color schemes will be mailed or personally delivered back to you with accompanying paint color chips and color numbers from Benjamin Moore. Each option consists of a custom tailored set of colors for your home or commercial building base wall color, trim and accents. Color placement will be marked-up on client provided digital photos or Architectural elevations (basic service clients) or computer rendered on client provided appropriate Architectural elevations (full service clients). Each service will indicate where each color goes on the building. Full service clients will be able to see how the entire project will look at a reduced scale. This is also a helpful service for your painting contractor.
5) After you receive and review the final results I call you to discuss your project. After the phone consultation any additional work will be considered additional fees. Any additional questions that come up during the color selection process may be addressed by phone or e-mail.
On-Site Residential Interior Consultations

An on-site INTERIOR paint color consultation is available for building owners within the Miami-Dade area only. For those located outside this area we can arrange an on-site consultation on a project by project basis for additional fees. A check or PayPal payment of 50% is required in order to commence services. Full payment is made on the day of the Consultation visit if completed that day or due prior to the delivery of final color selections.
1. Email me to schedule an appointment.
2. I begin by taking a tour your home. During the tour, you will describe your color preferences, lifestyles, concerns, needs and interests. I will review any photos, magazines or colors that you may have. I will review your existing furnishings and discuss any changes that you will be making. This will give me a good indication of what your likes and dislikes are so I can best fulfill your needs.
3. Once I understand your needs I will work on my own and begin to select wall colors for each room. I may start with 3-5 ideas in a room, but during the consultation process in step 4 we will eliminate some of these so that only 1-3 colors remain for you to consider testing.
4. After I have selected colors for your consideration we will go through each room and view the options using enlarged paint chips. We will compare the color chips as they are held against each wall in the room, and alongside objects that are in the room. The colors will be evaluated within the context of the room and its contents. During this process, you will become clearer as to which colors, tints, and shades you favor, and we will be able to eliminate others. Together, we narrow down and then select the precise paint colors and related accent trim colors you wish to test. I will prepare and enter the color options in an Interior Paint Schedule Option sheet and Paint Code Schedule that includes the names and numbers of the color selections.
5. After you are happy with the selections I will make sure there are color unity, balance and flow between all of the rooms.
6. After the consultation, you can test your paint colors on your own and make paint color choices from the Schedule Option list in step 4. If you wish I will prepare a final Paint Schedule for your painter.
7. You may e-mail or call me, if you wish to schedule a follow up visit during the paint testing process for clarification and adjustments.
